Privacy Policy

TidyMonth is a bookkeeping service. The software behind it is built and operated by Prosper Finance, Inc. ("Prosper," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you run a Books Check or become a TidyMonth customer, and what we do with it.
What we collect
Account information you give us directly: your name, email, business name, and answers to the intake questions on the Books Check.
Financial data from the connections you choose to make: bank and card transaction history through Plaid, and, if you connect it, your QuickBooks Online company data through Intuit's Accounting API. This includes accounts, transactions, customers, vendors, and reports. We change nothing during your Books Check. Nothing is imported or written back to QuickBooks unless and until you become a paying customer.
Usage data from the site itself: pages viewed, links clicked, and standard technical details like browser type and IP address, collected through Meta Pixel and Google Analytics (GA4) when those are enabled.
How we use it
- To run the Books Check and show you the result.
- To categorize, reconcile, and close your books if you subscribe.
- To send you your close packet, receipts, and account emails.
- To measure which marketing channels bring in customers.
- To meet our obligations to Intuit as a QuickBooks-connected app.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your financial data to train models for any customer other than you.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run TidyMonth: Plaid (bank connections), Intuit (QuickBooks connections), Stripe (billing), Resend (email), and our cloud hosting and database providers. Each handles your data under its own agreement with us and only for the purpose of providing their service to TidyMonth.
We do not share your financial data with any other customer, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your ledger and financial history for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after cancellation in case you want to export or reactivate. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us; some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate accounting and audit purposes.
Security
Financial connections use bank-grade providers (Plaid, Intuit) over OAuth; we never see or store your bank or QuickBooks login credentials. Data in transit and at rest is encrypted.
Your choices
You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time; see the disconnect page for what that does. You can export your full ledger and financials at any time, forever, whether or not you are still a customer. You can ask us to delete your account.
Children
TidyMonth is a business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active customers by email.
