Terms of Service
Last updated September 5, 2026
These terms govern your use of TidyMonth, a bookkeeping service built and operated by Prosper Finance, Inc. ("Prosper," "we," "us"). By running a Books Check or subscribing to TidyMonth, you agree to these terms.
The service
TidyMonth categorizes, reconciles, and closes your books every month for a flat subscription price, currently $199/month. A bookkeeper reviews every close before it is delivered to you. TidyMonth is not a tax preparer, CPA, or law firm, and nothing we provide is tax, legal, or investment advice.
The Books Check
The Books Check is a free diagnostic. Connecting your bank or QuickBooks for a Books Check does not create a paid subscription. We change nothing during your Books Check. You choose separately whether to start a paid subscription afterward.
Cleanup pricing
If your books need catch-up before they are current, that work is priced, not included for free beyond the first three months: one to three months of backlog is included in your subscription, four to six months is a flat fee, seven to twelve months is a flat fee, and anything beyond that is quoted individually after we look at your books. You will always see the price before you pay it.
The guarantee
We would rather refund you than keep you unhappy. Specifically:
- First-close money-back. If your first Tidy Close is not worth it, we refund your first month in full. No questions asked. Contact us within 30 days of your first close to request it.
- Cancel anytime. One click, from your account. No call, no contract, no notice period.
- Your books, always. You can export your full ledger and financials at any time, whether or not you are a paying customer, forever.
Refunds beyond the first-close guarantee are handled case by case. Cleanup fees for work already completed are not refundable once delivered.
QuickBooks
If you connect QuickBooks, you must be an authorized admin on that QuickBooks company. TidyMonth reads your QuickBooks data to import it; it never writes back to QuickBooks. Prosper is your ledger of record once you subscribe. QuickBooks, if you keep it, becomes an optional import source and export target, not a second live ledger. See our QuickBooks disconnect page for what happens if you disconnect it.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for authorizing any bank or QuickBooks connection you make, and for reviewing the closes and reports we deliver. You remain responsible for your own tax filings and for engaging a CPA where you need one.
Acceptable use
TidyMonth is built for straightforward, cash-basis service businesses in the United States. We may decline or discontinue service for businesses outside that scope, or for use that is fraudulent, unlawful, or abusive toward our team.
Limitation of liability
TidyMonth is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify active customers by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
